Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q:
What is the North York Family Physicians' "After
Hours"
Clinic?
A:
A group
of well established Family Physicians in our
Community - The North York Family Physicians
Association
- has opened an "After Hours" Clinic, on a cooperative basis in
order to provide "URGENT" medical care when individual
Doctors may not be available. We do not provide "on-going"
medical care for patients.
Q:
When is the Clinic open?
A:
The
Clinic is open from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on
weekdays, and 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on weekends.
Closed Dec 25th and Jan 1st.
Our doors will be closed when we have
registered enough patients to take us past our closing time.
Q: Do
I have to make an appointment?
A:
No, you
don't have to make an appointment. You
may simply
come to the Clinic, if your own Doctor is not available, and you
will be seen by one of the Doctors at the Clinic.
Q: Who
will be working in the Clinic?
A:
The
Clinic is staffed by Doctors who are members
of the North York Family Physicians Association.
When you
visit the Clinic, you may find your own Doctor on duty. At other
times, you will find a colleague working there.
Q: How
will my own Doctor know I have been to the
"After Hours" Clinic?
A:
Your
Doctor will receive a written report of your visit ONLY if
your Family Physician is a member of the "After Hours" Clinic,
otherwise, you may request a copy of your encounter sheet to give to
your Family Physician.
